Test Automation Engineer (m/w/d)
Senior Test Automation Engineer (Platform / Cloud / API)
Description
We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to design, implement, and integrate automated tests for complex platform services and APIs. You will work closely with platform and engineering teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure distributed systems through robust test automation embedded into CI/CD pipelines.

Engineering-driven culture with strong DevOps and CI/CD practices
Non-Negotiable Requirements (Must Have)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
ISTQB certification (mandatory)
Strong, hands-on experience in test automation design and implementation
Proven experience with:
API, functional, and integration testing
Automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines
Solid experience testing distributed systems and microservice architectures
Expert-level knowledge of GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes
Practical experience with test automation tools/frameworks such as:
Postman, Swagger UI
RestAssured
JUnit, TestNG, Robot Framework
Strong scripting skills, preferably Python
Experience integrating tests into shared, cross-platform test frameworks with unified reporting
Desirable Requirements (Nice to Have)
Experience testing identity providers and authentication solutions (e.g., Keycloak, Okta, MFA)
Experience with secret management, vaults, and certificate handling
Testing experience in event-driven systems, message queues, and asynchronous architectures
Exposure to workflow automation and orchestration tools
Experience testing cluster-capable, service-oriented architectures
Familiarity with modern web technologies
Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger
Background in security testing and secure test methodologies
Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and tools like Cucumber
