(Senior) Researcher – SoC Architecture for Wireless Systems

Position Overview

A research-focused technology organization is seeking a (Senior) Researcher in SoC Architecture to explore next-generation computing architectures for advanced wireless systems.

This role focuses on system-on-chip (SoC) design and optimization to support evolving wireless base station functionalities and high-performance communication workloads. The position combines deep architectural research with system-level innovation through hardware–software co-design.

Key Responsibilities

SoC Architecture Research & Optimization

• Conduct advanced research to optimize CPU microarchitecture for wireless system workloads, including scheduling and data transmission.

• Improve overall SoC performance, efficiency, and scalability based on real-world communication use cases.

Hardware–Software Co-Design

• Develop novel computing architectures that enhance performance and capacity of wireless systems.

• Apply hardware–software co-design principles to improve system efficiency and flexibility.

• Optimize execution across heterogeneous computing resources.

Architectural Innovation

• Identify and evaluate emerging trends in:

  • Scalar, vector, and tensor processing

  • Edge AI integration

  • CPU microarchitecture optimization

• Propose new technologies in:

  • CPU architecture

  • Memory and cache systems

  • Interconnect design

  • Overall SoC architecture

• Drive improvements in performance, power efficiency, and silicon area (PPA).

Collaboration & Ecosystem Development

• Establish and maintain long-term collaborations with academic and industry partners.

• Engage with leading research institutions and domain experts in computer architecture.

• Contribute to joint research initiatives and knowledge exchange.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Communications, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chip design, SoC architecture, or wireless communication systems.

• Strong expertise in:

  • Hardware–software co-design

  • Microprocessor architecture (scalar, vector, tensor computing)

  • Scheduling in heterogeneous systems

  • Memory and cache optimization

  • Power optimization techniques

• Solid understanding of hardware–software interfaces and system interactions.

• Excellent communication skills, including ability to engage across teams and senior stakeholders.

• Professional fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with wireless and cellular technologies (e.g., LTE, 5G NR, or beyond).

• Knowledge of compiler technologies and their interaction with hardware architectures.

• Experience working with large-scale or real-time communication systems.

• Familiarity with emerging edge AI and heterogeneous compute platforms.

• Additional language skills are a plus.
