Senior LLM Agent Researcher – Contract Role
Position Overview
A global research organization is seeking a Senior LLM Agent Researcher (Contractor) to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in large language models and agent-based AI systems.
This role focuses on developing domain-specific foundation models, multi-agent systems, and web-based autonomous agents. The position involves both research and production-oriented development, with applications spanning areas such as digital services, data platforms, infrastructure optimization, and intelligent operations.
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary research team and collaborate with global engineering groups to bring advanced AI systems from concept to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Foundation Model Development
- Design and develop advanced foundation models tailored to domain-specific applications.
- Focus on architectures such as:
- Large language models (LLMs)
- Time-series foundation models
- Optimize models for performance, scalability, and robustness across diverse use cases.
Agent Systems & AI Research
- Develop and evaluate multi-agent and autonomous agent systems.
- Explore architectures for web-based agents and task automation systems.
- Integrate advanced AI techniques into real-world applications.
End-to-End Research & Engineering
- Independently drive the full lifecycle of AI projects, including:
- Concept design
- Prototyping
- Model training
- Deployment into production environments
- Ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable in high-concurrency systems.
System Optimization & Deployment
- Optimize model performance for both development and production environments.
- Improve system efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Debug complex issues in large-scale distributed AI systems.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Stay up to date with state-of-the-art research in LLMs, agents, and foundation models.
- Integrate cutting-edge techniques into production systems.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in large-scale model or algorithm development.
- Strong programming skills in Python with deep experience in PyTorch.
- Experience with distributed training on GPU or accelerator-based clusters.
- Proven experience developing foundation models (LLMs or time-series models).
- Demonstrated ability to take projects from research to production independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience training large-scale models (1B–10B parameters or larger).
- Knowledge of alternative model architectures such as state space models (SSMs).
- Experience with multi-agent systems or autonomous AI workflows.
- Domain expertise in areas such as healthcare analytics or performance data systems.
- Publications in top-tier AI conferences or contributions to open-source AI projects.
- Experience working in global or cross-cultural engineering teams.
- Additional language skills are beneficial.
