Senior Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate and debug machine control systems, including servo motion, robotics, and high-speed device integration
• Develop, update, and validate PLC and control software for new or upgraded production lines
• Create User, Functional, and Detailed Design Specifications
• Develop high-quality PLC and HMI code based on specifications
• Troubleshoot complex automation equipment and implement effective solutions
• Maintain comprehensive documentation to Medical Device standards
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Provide technical support, training, and mentoring to junior staff
• Monitor and identify opportunities for process and system improvements
• Ensure compliance with Quality System documentation, change control, and HSE standards

Primary Tasks

• Develop, debug, and validate automation control system software
• Analyze, fault-find, and modify automation software as needed
• Participate in project teams and provide informed decisions on hardware, software, and system architecture
• Plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks to meet tight schedules
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Adopt and promote a strong Credo-based code of conduct

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 5–6 years’ experience in automated control systems as part of a machine design or integration team
• Strong PLC experience with:
  • Allen Bradley ControlLogix 5000 / GuardLogix
  • Schneider / Pilz Safety PLCs
• HMI/SCADA experience: Wonderware InTouch / ArchestrA, FactoryTalk View
• Experience in servo motion control, robotics, or machine vision

Desirable / Bonus:

• Experience with printer systems, BCR, distributed systems, RFID, or data analytics
• Familiarity with validated environments and strong change control discipline
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-discipline team
