Battery Systems Engineer

The Battery Systems Development team requires Engineers with experience to lead the technical development of an internal or a customer-focused battery project. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the technical solution of a functional, safe, and compliant system or a sub-system. Responsibilities

• Lead battery systems and sub-systems design, development and delivery to the project timeline
• Decompose system and sub-system requirements to a component level
• Develop and support verification, validation and integration strategy, and testing from prototype phase through to homologation
• Support derivation of the technical/functional safety concept
• System and Design reviews, DFMEA, risk analysis
• Technical drawings and production documentation reviews
• Conduct root cause analysis
• Providing support to assembly and testing teams during product operations
• Providing support to ongoing product and process improvement
• Ensuring product conformity to standards and best practices
• Driving product safety based on an analytical and risk assessed approach
• Leading technically focused meetings

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Systems Engineering 
• At least 3 years of experience in automotive systems or industrial experience within a complex multidisciplinary product environment. Experience with HV Battery systems and knowledge of system design with Lithium based battery cell
• Understanding of Systems / Requirement Engineering & Tools (e.g. IBM DOORS, JAMA)
• Experience with PLM systems (3Dx, TeamCentre, Creo) – Knowledge of project life cycle management from early R&D to series production
• Experience in product design, knowledge of production process and best practices
• Experience in safe working practices around HV systems, legislative requirements, and homologation standards
• Experience with MS Office tools
• Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential
