Wireless Systems Expert – Next-Generation Base Station (B5G/6G)

Position Overview

A research-driven telecommunications organization is seeking a Wireless Systems Expert to contribute to the development of next-generation base station systems for Beyond 5G and 6G networks.

This role involves leading and participating in advanced system-level research, focusing on radio architectures, enabling technologies, and cost-efficient solutions for future wireless infrastructure. The position requires strong cross-domain collaboration with experts in hardware, baseband, standardization, and product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on next-generation base station (BTS) radio systems, architectures, and enabling technologies.

• Define and analyze system requirements for future wireless infrastructure.

• Design advanced wireless system architectures with focus on performance, scalability, and efficiency.

• Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for current and future base station products.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including:

  • RF and antenna engineering

  • Baseband algorithm development

  • Hardware architecture

  • Standardization and product teams

• Review and evaluate proposed system designs and technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

• At least 10 years of industry experience in wireless communication systems.

• Strong expertise in:

  • RF and microwave engineering

  • Antenna systems and near-RF architectures

  • Signal processing for wireless communications

• Deep understanding of radio hardware architectures and system integration.

Technical Expertise

• Digital beamforming techniques and associated baseband algorithms.

• Wireless channel modelling and propagation characteristics.

• Scientific programming skills (e.g., Python, Octave, or equivalent).

• Knowledge of C/C++ is advantageous.

• Experience with electronic and electromagnetic simulation tools such as:

  • CST

  • COMSOL

  • SPICE

• Strong familiarity with wireless communication standards (e.g., 3GPP, ETSI).

• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Willingness to travel internationally as required.

• Primarily on-site role with limited remote flexibility.
